Haris Marcopoulos – Managing Director

Haris Marcopoulos was born in 1962 and graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1988 he achieved his Master’s in Business Administration.

He has had an outstanding financial career to date, receiving acclaim in a number of spheres, having consulted as a business analyst with a number of international companies in South Africa. He headed the international treasury operations of South Africa’s largest food company for seven years.

In 1995, he formed Finway International, bringing a wealth of corporate financial experience to the personal investor. He advises clients on a wide range of financial affairs and has a deep knowledge of South African needs and international markets.


Rob Picard – Senior Partner

Rob Picard was born in 1964 and graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1989 with an Honours degree in Business Economics. He later qualified in Property Valuation and International Tax.

He served as an officer in the South African Air Force, later also lecturing at the Military Academy which is a faculty of Stellenbosch University.

His experience includes Investment and Private Banking, having worked for leading South African Private Banks. In April 2009, he joined Finway International.

Derick-Du-Toit–Financial Manager

Derick Du Toit – Financial Manager

Derick Du Toit completed his Bachelors in Accounting at the University of Stellenbosch in 2009. He later went on to complete his 3-year Articles with SAICA.

He was previously a financial manager with one of the leading restaurants in South Africa, and at an IT company. He has gained invaluable experience within the accounting, auditing and tax profession.

Derick is a qualified AGA (SA) with SAICA and registered Tax Practitioner, currently managing Finway’s financial accounts, including tax and managing the Fiduciary desk which provides clients with related services. He joined Finway International in 2016.

Daniel Lee – Analyst

Daniel completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Economics and Finance in 2017 and subsequently completed his honours in Financial Analysis at the University of Cape Town in 2018. He is currently completing his CFA qualification where he is a Level III candidate.

Daniel joined Finway as a Market Analyst and Equity Trader.


Shameez Hajwanie – Administrator

Shameez is currently completing her Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the Institute of Marketing Management. She has over 4 years’ experience in various administrative roles, previously working for one of the major leading retail groups in South Africa.

She joined Finway in 2016, and her roles include front house management, executive assistance & client services.
