Haris Marcopoulos – Managing Director

Haris graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree, followed by a Master’s in Business Administration in 1988. He went on to head the international treasury operations of South Africa’s largest food company for seven years. Haris has had an outstanding financial career to date, receiving acclaim in a number of spheres, having consulted as a business analyst for a number of international companies in South Africa.

In 1995, he founded Finway International, bringing a wealth of corporate financial experience to the personal investor. With a passion for strategic solutions and people, and over 30 years of experience in the industry, Haris advises clients on a wide range of financial affairs and has a deep knowledge of South African needs and international markets.

Rob Picard – Senior Partner

Rob graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1989, with an Honours degree in Business Economics, later obtaining his Fiduciary Practitioner of South Africa (FPSA) status. He holds a Diploma in Property Valuation, International Tax and an Advanced Diploma in Estate and Trust Administration. Rob served as an officer in the South African Airforce, later lecturing at the Military Academy, a faculty of Stellenbosch University. He has gained invaluable experience over his career in investments and private banking, having worked for leading South African investment banks. Rob joined Finway International in April 2009 as Senior Partner.

Derick Du Toit – Financial Manager

Derick completed his Bachelors in Accounting at the University of Stellenbosch in 2009, followed by his 3-year Articles with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). Derick is a qualified Associate General Accountant (AGA) SA with SAICA, a registered Tax Practitioner and a member of the Fiduciary Institute of Southern Africa (FISA). After gaining invaluable experience within the accounting, auditing and tax profession, he joined Finway in 2016 as a Financial Manager. In 2021, he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Estate and Trust Administration, as well as FPSA status. Derick manages the financial accounts, as well as the Fiduciary desk, which deals with Trusts, Estates, Wills and Tax.

Daniel Lee – Analyst

Daniel graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2017 with a Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Economics and Finance. Following this, he completed his honours in Financial Analysis in 2018, receiving a distinction for his final dissertation which compared various performance measures and their reliability during times of market uncertainty. He has passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program and will be awarded the charter upon completion of the required work experience. Daniel joined Finway as a Market Analyst and Equity Trader in 2018.

Cheryl Clark – Wealth Investment Administrator

Cheryl started her career in the financial industry in 1989, and joined Finway in 2019 as a Wealth Investment Administrator. She has over 25 years’ experience in administration within the financial sector. Some of her key responsibilities include administration, private banking and client services. Cheryl is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure Finway’s clients are taken care of.

Aurora Marcopoulos – Private Banker

Aurora graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2017 with a Bachelor of Social Science, triple majoring in politics, economic history and international relations, followed by an Honours Degree in International Politics. She then completed an Investment Management course to strengthen her knowledge about politics, economics and markets, after joining Finway in 2019 as a Private Banker and Consultant. In 2022, she completed her Masters in Conflict, Peace and Security with a distinction.

Nicola Liebenberg – Wealth Investment Administrator

Nicola joined Finway in 2022 as a Wealth Investment Administrator. She began her professional career in finance in 2017 working for an asset manager where she developed a passion for the field. She later completed her Registered Persons Examinations (RPE) through the South African Institute of Financial Markets. She has several years of experience in administration within the financial and insurance industry and is studying to obtain a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management. Some of Nicola’s key responsibilities include administration, banking and client services.
